AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
AWS Support plans compared for Cloud Practitioner
Every AWS customer gets Basic Support, which covers account and billing questions, service quota increases and service health checks, but not technical support cases. Business Support+ adds 24/7 access to Cloud Support Engineers and the full set of Trusted Advisor checks. Enterprise Support adds a designated Technical Account Manager, and Unified Operations adds designated Domain Specialist Engineers and 24/7 workload monitoring.
Basic Support: what every customer gets
Basic Support is included for all AWS customers at no extra charge. It gives 24/7 access to one-on-one responses to account and billing questions, support forums such as AWS re:Post, service health checks, and documentation, technical papers and best practice guides. You can also request service quota increases.
Basic Support does not include technical support cases with AWS engineers. To open a technical case, the account needs one of the paid plans. Basic Support also includes only the core AWS Trusted Advisor checks.
What each paid plan adds
Business Support+ is the minimum plan AWS recommends for production workloads. It adds 24/7 phone, web and chat access to Cloud Support Engineers, AI-assisted responses, human engagement in under 30 minutes for business-critical system down cases, the full set of Trusted Advisor checks, the AWS Support API, and help with popular third-party software running on AWS.
Enterprise Support includes everything in Business Support+ and adds a designated Technical Account Manager (TAM), a response of up to 15 minutes for critical cases, strategic business reviews with AWS experts, access to AWS Security Incident Response, and AWS Countdown event management.
Unified Operations is for mission-critical workloads. It adds a designated TAM and Domain Specialist Engineer (DSE) for your specific applications, 24/7 security and performance monitoring of your workloads, a five-minute response for critical incidents, and critical workload reviews with personalized runbooks.
AWS has announced that the older Developer, Business and Enterprise On-Ramp plans will be discontinued on January 1, 2027, outside the AWS GovCloud (US) Region.
How support fees are charged
All AWS Support plans are billed monthly with no long-term contract. Subscriptions have a minimum commitment of 30 days, or 90 days for Unified Operations.
The monthly fee is the greater of a set minimum monthly fee or a percentage of your monthly AWS charges. The percentage falls as spending rises.
Business Support+ is calculated separately for each AWS account. Enterprise Support and Unified Operations are calculated on the combined charges of all the accounts subscribed to the plan.

- Believing support plans need a one-year or three-year contract: all plans are billed monthly with no long-term contract.
- Believing a support fee is a flat amount: it is the greater of a minimum fee or a percentage of your monthly AWS charges.
- Believing Enterprise Support includes Domain Specialist Engineers and 24/7 workload monitoring: those come with Unified Operations.
